Mainly engaged in tidal flat wetland, marine geology, extreme weather disaster assessment and scientific research on sustainable development. He has deep attainments in the use of 3S technology for extreme weather disaster early warning and protection, medium and long-term climate prediction model, wetland evaluation system and model research and construction, and environmental ecological planning. He has published more than 180 papers in such authoritative journals as environmental science, journal of environmental science, Chinese environmental science, geographic research, geography, atmospheric science, and ecological journal, including 25 EI SCI and 7 monographs. He is now the deputy secretary-general of the Chinese Geographical Society, the director of the Wetland Resources Protection Professional Committee of the Chinese Natural Resources Society, the director of the Disaster Early Warning Committee, the expert of the national disaster emergency expert pool, the expert of authoritative journals such as geography journals, ecological journals, geographic research, population resources and environment, and the peer reviewer of several SCI international journals, as well as a famous marine remote sensing expert.

主要从事潮滩湿地、海洋地质、极端天气灾害评估及可持续发展科学研究科学研究。在利用3S技术进行极端天气灾害预警与防护、中长期气候预测模式、湿地评价体系和模型研建、环境生态规划方面有较深的造诣，在环境科学、环境科学学报、中国环境科学、地理研究、地理学报、大气科学、生态学报等权威刊物发表论文180余篇，其中EI\SCI 25篇，专著7部。现为中国地理学会副秘书长，中国自然资源学会湿地资源保护专业委员会理事，灾害预警委员会理事，国家灾害应急专家库专家，地理学报、生态学报、地理研究、人口资源与环境等权威刊物以及多个SCI国际期刊审稿专家， 著名海洋遥感专家。
